About Me
Harpreet Saini

I am a Registered Social Worker and a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Master of Social Work program (2009), with over 15 years of experience supporting children, individuals, and couples through a family systems lens. My work includes individual, group, and family-centred interventions using a range of therapeutic modalities. When working with young children and families, I strongly believe in the power of play therapy as a natural and expressive way for children to communicate when words are difficult to find. I also value parent–child play therapy for its ability to strengthen connection and support emotional growth. My family work is grounded in an attachment-based approach and supported by additional training through the Canadian Association for Play Therapy. To further support individual trauma recovery, I have completed Level 1 training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Lifespan Integration. These evidence-based approaches enhance my ability to support both children and adults in processing complex trauma and building resilience. Strengthening couple relationships is often a central part of family-centred work. In this area, I draw on Level 1 training in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), both research-based approaches to relationship therapy. These models support couples in improving communication, managing conflict more effectively, and deepening emotional and physical connection. I work collaboratively with couples to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and to build healthier, more connected relationships.
